3d flash

3D Flash is a rising movement among Flash artists who wish to depict three-dimensional (3D) animations using Macromedia Flash, which is primarily a 2D authoring environment. The industry leader is the company Electric Rain, which uses the proprietary RaviX engine in its flagship Swift3D software. This product can convert models created using the built-in Swift3D editor, or other professional 3D editing programs such as 3D Studio Max or Lightwave 3D, to 2D elements understood by Macromedia Flash and the SWF file format.

Some developers have implemented their own algorithms, making use of the wealth of trigonometric and programmatic functions offered by ActionScript utilized in the SWF format. Although some implementations have been greatly successful, the industry standard remains that of Swift3D.
