36th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS
The 36th Waffen-Grenadier Division der SS was one of the thirty-eight divisions fielded by the Waffen-SS during World War II. It was created by upgrading the notorious Dirlewanger Brigade in early 1945, but never grew to a full division's size. It was noted for both atrocities and desertions during the final months of the war.
