1946 Atlantic hurricane season
The 1946 Atlantic hurricane season was an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially began on June 1, 1946 and ended on November 30, 1946.
The 1946 season was fairly quiet. A few tropical storms made landfall in the US, one in Mexico. The most notable storm of the season was a hurricane that came up from the Western Caribbean and made landfall near Tampa as a Category 2. Damage was relatively minimal and confined to a small area where the eyewall passed over.
