16th team

The 16th Team concept in the Australian National Rugby League is the much debated idea of introducing a 16th team into the competition to stop confusing byes, as well as having 8 teams in the finals series that have won more often then lost during the regular season.

This even came to a point where three bids for a new team were placed last year, from the Gold Coast in Queensland, North Sydney, and New Zealand, yet the idea was scraped. Talk of a 16th team continues.
