Ásgrímur Jónsson
Ásgrímur Jónsson (1876–1958) was an Icelandic painter.
The subjects of his pictures are mostly the landscapes of his home country. His painting style is oriented to the French impressionists like Corot. Some of his pictures are also illustrating Icelandic sagas or folk tales.
He has influenced a lot of other artists in Iceland and had very soon an international reputation.
